Build the confidence to save lives
The PADI Emergency First Response course (EFR) is a one-day course that serves as a precursor to any professional diving certification. It is mandatory for the PADI Divemaster course and is normally complemented by the PADI Rescue Diver course. It is an essential course that can be used not just in a diving environment but also in your day-to-day life. It teaches you how to respond in a composed manner to medical emergencies of all kinds from road accidents to allergic reactions. The course prepares you to be the middleman between the patient and emergency medical services, drastically raising their chance of survival and complete recovery.
You learn primary care (CPR) which involves dealing with victims in life threatening conditions and secondary care which is First Aid. It is known that responding to an emergency situation can be a very intimidating and stressful proposition. The PADI Emergency First Response course teaches you everything you need to know to handle these situations in the correct way, thus building your confidence to get involved and probably save a life. In many countries EFR is a compulsory course requirement to obtain even a driving license. Emergency situations don’t come knocking on your door and can take place at anytime, anywhere. They can occur at your workplace, at home or on the street and can range in the form of deep cuts to natural disasters. Therefore, it is not just useful for divers but parents, children, teachers and the society in general.
